SPENCER, Joseph Bernard

Joseph Bernard Spencer, age 50, of Bernard’s Lane Wagmatcook, died June 30 2018, in Wagmatcook.

Born in Baddeck May 16, 1968, he was the son of the late Lawrence Bernard Sr. and the late Ida Mae (Simon) Bernard of Wagmatcook. He was a member of the Wagmatcook church.

He is survived by his godfather, Vincent Googoo Sr., brothers, Rodney Joseph Bernard, Winston Joseph Bernard (Charlotte Bernard), Alister Joseph Bernard; sister, Lorraine Marie Bernard (Francis Bright) all of Wagmatcook. Spencer is also survived by 4 nephews, Devon Isadore (Ottawa), Tyler Isadore, (Wagmatcook), Edwin Bright (Baddeck) and Jake Bernard (Eskasoni), 6 nieces, Chastity Isadore (Wagmatcook), Heather Bernard (Whycocomagh), Natalie Francis (Sydney), Kathy Bernard (Wagmatcook), Madison Bernard (Wagmatcook), Charlize Bernard (Wagmatcook) and 15 Grand Nieces and nephews. Besides his parent, he was predeceased by his brother, Lawrence Bernard Jr. and Godmother, Christine Pierro.

Visitation will be held at his home, Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 12 Bernard’s Lane, Wagmatcook, starting at 5 p.m. The funeral will be held at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, Wagmatcook, July 9, 2018, at 11 a.m. with burial to follow in the Queen of the World Cemetery. Donation may be made to St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church. Arrangements are under the care and direction of MacAskill Funeral Home Baddeck.
