New Waterford couple return to court

Pair charged with breaching conditions, drug possession

A New Waterford couple is to return to provincial court Friday for a bail hearing after again being charged with breaching their release conditions.

Gordon Trevor Hibbert, 29, of Hinchey Avenue is charged with three counts of breaching his conditions by failing to behave, having contact with his co-accused and failing to stay away from St. Joseph Street.

Renee Marie McLeod, 28, of St. Joseph Street, is facing two counts of breach in failing to behave and failing to not have contact with Hibbert.

The offences for both are to have occurred July 6.

The couple was first charged Oct. 11 with two counts of possession for the purpose of traffickin­g (hydromorph­one and Ritalin), and single counts of traffickin­g in Ritalin and possession of marijuana. The offences are alleged to have occurred in New Waterford.

Earlier this year, the couple was again charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of traffickin­g involving cocaine and Ritalin along with a single count of possession of Ritalin.

The pair is also facing three counts of breaching court orders by failing to behave, abstain from drug possession and weapon possession.

Hibbert faces an additional charge of obstructin­g a police officer.

The couple now continues to be on remand pending the outcome of Friday’s bail hearing.
