COAL DUST DAYS SCHEDULE
Coal Dust Days runs July 13-22:
FRIDAY
• 1-3 p.m., 3BV3 basketball challenge, Breton Education Centre, for children entering Grades 4-7. Register, 902862-4710.
• 6 p.m., Coal Dust Days doll carriage and bicycle parade. Open to children ages 2-10. Lineup at the Town Square Park on Plummer Avenue and parade ends at the Rose Schwartz Park with a magic show by the Jokers Wild Entertainment. Cake and juice provided.
• 7-11 p.m., Night of entertainment with Reggie & Everette, Army Navy & Air Force Unit 217.
• 10-2 p.m., Dance, French Club with entertainment by GTO.
SATURDAY
• 9 a.m.-12 p.m., Gigantic flea market and bake sale in aide of the Nora Huntley Home for the Disabled, Gaul Centre, Union Highway.
• 2-4 p.m., King Coal’s Superhero Birthday Bash, Colliery Lands Park. Games and prizes.
• 6-10 p.m., Dance, Army Navy and Air Force Club Unit 217, with music by Good Choice.
• 10 p.m.-2 a.m., Entertainment and dancing, Rack n’ Roll Club, with music by Cherry Bomb.
• 10 p.m.-2 a.m., Jackpot karaoke, French Club. SUNDAY
• 10 a.m.-12 p.m., Gigantic flea market and bake sale in aid of the Nora Huntly Home for the Disabled, Gaul Centre, Union Highway.
• 2:30 p.m., Meat roll, Royal Canadian Legion. Must be 19 years or older.
• 4 p.m., Coal Dust Days parade. Formation at 2:30 p.m., Greenfield school, James Street. Parade gets underway at 4 p.m.
• 4:30-7:30 p.m., Coal Dust Days parking lot party, Colliery Lands Park, Ellsworth Avenue. Immediately following the parade. Local food trucks on hand and live music, Coal Dust Days stage, by John Curtis Sampson. Games for the children.
• 2-6 p.m., Kitchen party with Fred and Curtis, French Club.
• 7:15 p.m., Bingo, Army Navy & Airforce Unit 217.
• 7:15 p.m., This Moment is Mine with Kevin Collins, St. Leonard’s Church. An uplifting evening of entertainment.
