CONRAD, Ellenora ‘Ora’ Marie

-

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ellenora ‘Ora’ Marie Conrad at the QEII on July 13, 2018. Born and raised in Middle River on February 17, 1935, Ora was predeceased by her parents, Georgina (Fortune) and Donald Duncan ‘DD’ MacRae; brother, Winty, and her special friend, Bob.

Helping others was the foundation upon which Ora built her life. It should come as no surprise that her working career began as a Nurses Aid in the Military and ended with her retirement some 40 years later as a Live-in Caregiver.

Ora spent the last 19 years of her life living in Dartmouth at Eastwood Manor. Selflessly giving, she spent years volunteering her time at the building’s canteen and making friends and memories that she truly cherished. She would often win at crib, lose at bingo and enjoy the occasional beer and cigarette from the comfort of her couch.

Ora will be especially missed by her children, Jean (Pete), Lawrence (Brenda) and Colleen Conrad; siblings, Tally (Ivan) Goodwin, Wayne (Jackie) and Donnie MacRae; grandchildren, Amanda, Alicia, Ashley, Sabatina, Megan, Parker and Lawrence, as well as many great-grandchildren, especially Cheyenne and Chayce; special friends, Brenda MacDonald, Kaye and Cecile.

The family of Ora would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the QEII for providing such compassionate care.
