Elizabeth Anne Flora MacLeod “Liz” of Reid Station Road, Meadowvale, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 10:44 a.m., in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro, after a courageous fight. As she wished, she was surrounded by her family.

She is survived by her mother, Hazel, Truro; son, Peter, British Columbia; daughter, Anna, South Branch; brothers, Grant, Yarmouth, Greg, Moncton; sister, Esther (Vernon), Stewiacke; many nieces, nephews, greatniece­s and great-nephews. She is also survived by her extended MacLeod family in Cape Breton. She was predecease­d by her father, Peter.

Liz was employed as a comptrolle­r for the majority of her life, most recently at Leisure Days in Truro. She was always willing to open her door to any person or four-legged creature, with a meal and an ear to listen. She had many lifelong friends who span across the country. Her love toward her children, family members, nature and animals will be her legacy.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Arimathea Funeral Cooperativ­e, Upper Musquodobo­it.

A Celebratio­n of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 1st at 6 p.m. in the S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a local SPCA.

The family would like to thank the nurses, physicians, and staff of the Palliative Care Unit of CEHHC for their care and support of the family. A special thanks to Leisure Days for their ongoing support.
