It is with Heartfelt Sadness that we announce the passing of a Great Family Man and Friend Russell Patrick MacLean, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, August 4, 2018. Born in Sydney Mines on June 6, 1953 he was the son of Agnes and Russell MacLean

Russell worked for Nova Scotia Health Authority as Maintenanc­e Personnel for 49 years until retirement. He enjoyed his fishing trips, vacations to Florida, antique cars, and cruising in his Chevy. Russell was a devoted family man and loved having us all together.

He will be Forever Missed and will live on in the Hearts of, his wife and soulmate, Judy (Steffens); his girls and their husbands, Angela (Trent) Moore, Sherry (Derek) Seymour and Michelle (Leo) Seguin; his grandchild­ren were the apple of his eye and he was the Famous “PA” to, Joshua, Jeremiah, Owen, Mitchel, Julia, Anna and Jax; sisters and brothers, Ann Long, Mary (Wayne) Beddow, Patrice (Lorne) Cantwell, Nancy (David) Cholock, Tracey, (Joe Terry), Jude, Sean (Melissa); inlaws, Susan (Danny), Darlene (Johnny), Kathy (Keith), Kenny (Gerry), Stevie, Vince.

Russell was predecease­d by grandson, Landen Seymour; grandparen­ts, Mary and Norman MacLean, Irene and Gordon Jessome; two nieces, Charmaine Cantwell and Melissa MacNeil; parents-in-law, Annie Mae and Herb Steffens; brother-in-law, Stan Long.

We would like to extend a special thanks to, Dr. Michel McKeough and Louise McKeough, the staff at The Cape Breton Cancer Center (Dr. Khodadad, Claudette and Wendy). We can’t Thank You all enough for the amazing care you have provided. We are truly Grateful!

Visitation for the late Russell Maclean was held on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the JM Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines. A Funeral Mass to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday (Today), August 7 at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church with Fr. James Oliver officiatin­g.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to palliative care.
