WALSH, Ann “Annie” Elizabeth

It is with broken hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our dear mother, Annie Walsh, age 97 on August 13, 2018 at Harboursto­ne Enhanced Care Facility, Sydney with her daughters by her side. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Stephen and Frances (Head) Murphy.

She was employed as a nursing aid for many years. In her younger years, Annie enjoyed playing cards and bowling, loved a good joke and loved telling one. She had a great sense of humour. She loved chatting with people, a very kind and sweet lady. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Annie is survived by her loving children, Nancy (Blair) Campbell, Alberta, Arlene (Gerry) Sharpe, Ron (Muriel) Walsh, Rick Walsh, all of Ontario; ten grandchild­ren, 12 great-grandchild­ren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband, Ron Walsh; her son, Donnie Walsh; brothers, Hilbert, Frank and Eddie.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, August 20, 2018 with Fr. Norman McPhee officiatin­g at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist­s, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS. 902-849-4199. Reception to follow. Burial to take place in St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wallace’s Road, Glace Bay.
