Very messy or very good

Are we taking the good and turning it into messes?

In the beginning God spoke and created the Heavens and the earth.

He took six days to do His work and on the seventh day He rested.

His statement at the end of the sixth day is our focus today.

Genesis 1:31 “Then God saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good. So the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”

The Bible is saying that God saw everything and it was very good. What do you think, does God still see everything today? An interesting thought in a world that’s filled with so much chaos, confusion, sickness, addiction, wars and cruelty. You would think that even God would have to turn His eyes away from the amount of pain and suffering that mankind has afflicted upon mankind.

If we are ever going to see God as a loving God we must see the difference between what God made from a world that was without form and void and what mankind has made out of something that God handed us that was very good. The question is not, “how did God take a big mess and turn it into very good?,” but “how did we take very good and turn it into a big mess?”

God is good and the giver of all life and when you were born He saw you as very good. The problem today is not how does God see us but rather how do we see ourselves.

If you were to honestly look inward, what would you see? Is your heart filled with love, joy, and peace or is it filled with emptiness, bitterness and loneliness. If you have the wrong things living in you, how do you change and bring your life back to very peaceful, very thankful and very good?

The Bible tells us to humble ourselves and admit where we went wrong. Ask to be forgiven by Jesus and accept Him as your Saviour and Lord. The God of the beginning can give you a new beginning. The God of another chance can give you another chance and the God who has restored others can restore you.

Take a sticky note and put this verse on your fridge. Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I believe in a very good God and that people have needs that only God can help with. I encourage people with needs to find a church to attend in hopes that they would somehow come in contact with the very good God.

Sometimes the trouble with people who sit in church is they can appear to have no needs. They can be experts at pretending that they have it all together and don’t need any help. This creates a big problem for anyone who comes to church looking for help as they can feel out of place.

I believe the church should be alive with real people who are seeking the love and the power of God. I encourage you to find a good church where everyone is looking unto Jesus who is the author and finisher of our faith.

I pray for you that the Lord will take any area that’s very messy and turn it into very good. God bless you all.
