MAXWELL, George

It is with great sadness that we share the news that George Maxwell passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Foyer Lacombe Hospice, in St Albert, Alberta surrounded by his family. Born in Sydney, George was the son of the late George and Erma (Jones) Maxwell.

George was a loving father, grandfathe­r, and brother. He loved travelling, camping, and spending time with family and friends. George was considered a master in his trade and had the pleasure of working with many of his dearest friends. George lived life with grace, humility, and a great sense of humor.

George was predecease­d by his loving parents, George and Erma Maxwell.

George will be sadly missed by his daughters, Arlene (Brian) Forbes-Nickerson, Erin (Sarah) Maxwell and Lauren (Trevor) Tye; his grandchild­ren, Owen, Alyssa, Morgan, MacKenzie and Mia; siblings, Pauline (Rocket) MacDonald, Marilyn (Robert) Ranson, Brenda (Eric) Flint, Ingrid (John) Shannon and John Maxwell, along with several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of George may be made to Foyer Lacombe Hospice in St. Albert, AB.

Special thanks to George’s daughter-in-law, Sarah, who took time off work to make sure George was never alone in the last few months, as well as providing daily care, companions­hip and humor.

A celebratio­n of life service was held on July 14, 2018 at the Atlantic Trap and Gill in Calgary, AB. Burial of his ashes took place on August 11, 2018 at the Forest Haven Memorial Gardens in Sydney, NS.
