LEWIS, Marie Josephine

Marie Lewis passed away suddenly on August 25, 2018. She was the daughter of the late James and Evelyn (Landry) MacNeil and sister of the late Alex MacNeil.

She was the devoted, loving mother of Debra (Bernie) Chiasson, Blacketts’ Lake, Gary (Cheryl), Sydney River and Diane (Dates) McKay, Coxheath. She was the fiercely proud Nanny Lew to Sean LeLievre, Michael (Elizabeth Jessome) LeLievre, Ciana (Mike McKeigan) Chiasson, Erin (Ryan Smith) Chiasson, Matthew (Linda Murphy) McKay, Alana (Bryan Peori) McKay and Jillian (Darryl) Bourque. As well, she was the adoring great-grandmother to Emily LeLievre, Daylan and Dawson Bourque, Max Peori, and Rio McKay.

She was predeceased by her husband, Rollie, in 2000, and her eldest daughter,r Donna Marie, in 2014.

We want to express our gratitude and thanks to the entire staff of MacGillivary Guest Home, for their love, care, and support to Mom and our family. She thought of you all as “one of her own”.

We would also like to thank the EHS, ER staff, An Cala staff and Father Patrick who gently, respectfully, and lovingly prepared us and Mom for her reunion with Dad and Donna.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Marie’s life will be held Thursday, August 30, 2018 at the SW Chant & Son Funeral Home 564 Alexandra St., Sydney at 11 a.m., with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. Burial at Holy Rosary Cemetery will be held at a later date.
