Police identify stabbing suspect
Warrant issued for Christian Michael Lewis
An arrest warrant has been issued for 22-year-old Christian Michael Lewis in relation a stabbing Saturday night.
Cape Breton Regional Police have been looking for the man since the incident and hadn’t located him by publication time Monday.
Lewis is de- scribed as fivefoot-10 and 175 pounds, with short brown hair and green eyes.
The victim, who was brought to Cape Breton Regional Hospital in serious condition with multiple stab wounds, was found . . .
. . . on Liberty Street after police received a call around 7:30 p.m. However, investigators believe the stabbing happened on Dorchester Street.
A man who lives in the neighbourhood told the Post, on the condition of anonymity, he heard an altercation on Saturday. He said he heard two people fighting before a third person tried to break it up.
The man said he saw a man leave, clutching his abdomen, with blood soaking through his shirt.
“This area is really bad these days,” he said. “I grew up in this area. It was never this bad.”
Charges against Lewis include aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for dangerous purposes and theft of a motor vehicle.
