SNOW, Dorothy Irene

-

Sydney Mines

It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of our Mother, Dorothy Irene Snow, 73, on August 31, 2018, with her loving family by her side. Born on November 6, 1944 in NFLD, she was daughter of the late Ada and Roy Willis, and pre-deceased by her loving husband, David Snow.

A proud Newfie who shared fond memories of growing up in a family of nine. Mom spoke often of her loving relationship with her mom, Ada. She learned how to make amazing bread from her mom and always had homemade bread and tea for family and friends. A cure for all that ailed us.

Mom enjoyed her annual bus trips with the girls, her quilting group, the Tops girls and new friendships. Always ready for an adventure saying “so why not?” to each travel opportunity. An Active member of Trinity Anglican Church, where she volunteered for many church suppers, events and fundraisers.

Mom cherished her family, she marvelled at the wonderful people her grandchildren are becoming. She will be missed dearly by her family and friends and will be forever in our hearts.

Mom is survived by her children, Denise (Ken Popowich), David (Shauna Hillier) and Donna (Larry Mac Pherson); her grandchildren, Makayla, Kiana, Larry Jr., Jenna and Brooke. Also, survived by sisters, Marie, Ruby and Diane; her brother, Roy; sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews all who loved her dearly. Mom will also be missed “by her dogs” Buster and Snowy.

Visitation for Dorothy Snow will be held at J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, on Thursday, September 6 from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Mom’s life will take place on Friday, September 7 at 11 a.m. in Trinity Anglican Church, with Rev. Peter Rafuse officiating. The burial will be in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Tobin Road. A reception will take place in Gandy Hall, after the service.

Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
