SINGER, Christophe­r ‘Rex’

It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Christophe­r ‘Rex’ Singer, 70, at home on September 4, 2018. Born in Halifax on October 23, 1947, he was a son of the late Russell and Cecilia Singer.

Rex worked as a marine engineer on many different ships and loved the sea. He was an auto mechanic and did body work on vehicles. He owned his own paint store with his wife until he retired.

Rex loved talking to people, playing crib and spending time with his grandchild­ren and family. He always enjoyed a good laugh. He enjoyed spending time with his wife that was his best-friend and soulmate.

Rex is survived by his wife, Barbara; his daughter, Charlene Campbell (Jimmy), Port Hawkesbury, NS; his pride and joy, granddaugh­ters, Kaitlin Pierce, Vancouver BC and Mikayla Pierce, Sugar Camp, NS; his furbaby, Cognac; sisters, Val Duggan (Joe), Prospect, NS; Sandra Scott (Alister), Halifax, NS; brother, Clinton Singer (Lorna), Porters Lake, NS, and many nieces and nephews.

He was predecease­d by brother, Jimmy Singer, and Judy D’Ambrosse.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebratio­n of Life will take place on Friday, September 7 at 2 p.m. in the S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney. Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate.
