After creating a stir with a swim around Point Michaud earlier this week, Hilton the Shark has made his way all the way to Scatarie Island.

Electronic pings throughout Thursday also showed the four-metre great white swimming off Main-a-Dieu before apparently turning toward deeper waters.

“We’re still watching @HiltonTheShark very closely,” Ocearch tweeted Thursday.

“He’s now at the end of Cape Breton near Scatarie Island. What he does next could have an impact on where we go during our upcoming expedition to

Nova Scotia.”

Ocearch is the group that tagged Hilton for scientific study reasons. They will be in Nova Scotia from Sept. 16-Oct. 12 to do further research on sharks.

On Tuesday, Chris Fischer, founding chairman and expedition leader for the group, told the Cape Breton Post that Point Michaud was the farthest northeast the shark has travelled.

At the time it was believed the shark was here to mate and feed.

As for the 20-year-old’s next destination, even the shark itself wasn’t sure, according to a tweet from its Twitter account posted Thursday at 1:17 p.m.

“Uh oh! I seem to have reached the end of Nova Scotia. Now what??”

A second great white, George the Shark, that’s also being studied by Ocearch, suggested Hilton head for the Grand Banks area where it has been hanging out.

“There is an incredible abundance and variety of food,” George tweeted. “You’ll like it … trust me!”

Sure enough, Hilton reached the Grand Banks at about 5 p.m.
