It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Diane Romard, age 72, on Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at the Glace Bay Hospital, Glace Bay.

Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Alonzo and Veronica Hanrahan.

Diane was raised and lived in MacKay’s Corner most of her life. The love of her life was her family. She was employed with Harbouston­e Enhanced Care. She enjoyed Thursday Night darts, baking, playing cards and going on shopping trips.

Diane is survived by her sons, Derek (Lana) Gouthro, Kenneth (Vicki) Romard; daughter, Jennifer (Jonathan) MacDonald; daughter -in-law, Pauline Gouthro; her nine grandchild­ren, Samantha, Aaron, Nicole, Alyssa, Bella, Scott, Quinn, Kylie, and Scarlett; three greatgrand­daughters, Irelynn, Priscilla and Jocelyn. She is also survived by her brother, Michael (Debbie) Hanrahan; sister, Patsy (Fred) Warren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by her husbands, Gregory Gouthro and Joseph Romard; her son, Blain Gouthro; sister, Annette Viger; brothers, Roger, David and Lonnie Hanrahan.

Visitation will take place Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 1-3 p.m. at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist­s, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199).

A Memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Monday, September 10, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Church, Reserve Mines, with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiatin­g. Burial to take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Reception to follow in the church basement.

Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

A special thank you to the staff of New Waterdford Homemakers, especially Theresa Morgan, VON and the Glace Bay Hospital for all your care and support given to our mom.
