YOUNG, Lawrence Anthony “Tony”

-

It is with great sadness that we, the family announce the passing of Lawrence Anthony Young. Tony left this earth peacefully on September 14, 2018.

He was born on March 20, 1950 to the late Frank and Ruth (Vatcher) Young of North Sydney.

Tony faced many obstacles in his life and met each with a strength the common person may never know. He loved listening to music, long drives and ice-cream, and his many visits and celebrations with his family and friends. Tony loved to laugh, always had a smile and everyone got a highfive. Seventeen years ago, Tony was fortunate to return home to Cape Breton and live on Lamey’s Lane, a home operated by Cape Breton Residential Society where he was loved and cared for. They grieve today as his family does, therefore he is survived by all of them and his housemates.

He is also survived by his brothers, Paul (Marilyn), Sydney; brother, Raymond (Sydney); sister, Susan (Nat) Giangioppo of Toronto; sister-in-law, Elaine (Harry) Crawford, Halifax and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sister, Donna MacLean (Allister) and brother, Nick.

His passing leaves a hole in the heart of many, especially his best buddy and brother, Paul.

A celebration of Tony’s life will be held Friday, September 21st at 2 p.m. in the S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home Chapel, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney, Rev. Dr. J.A. MacIntosh to officiate. Family flowers only. Donations may be made to the SPCA or charity of your choice.

Messages and memorials may be directed to the family at www. chantfuneralhome.ca.

Funeral arrangements are under the care of Chant’s Funeral Home.
