Phyllis Morrison, Lower Truro, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, in the Palliative Care Unit of Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro.

Born in Marysville, New Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Florence (Howe) and Raymond Hinchey.

Phyllis is survived by her husband, Dannie, Lower Truro; son, Brad, Montreal, Quebec; sister, Barbara, Saint John, New Brunswick; sisters-in-law, Annie Kuchma and Jessie Neville, Glace Bay; several nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was predecease­d by her sisters, Marjorie, Alice, Elsie, Betty; brothers, Francis, Raymond.

Being a member of a military family, Phyllis lived in several provinces in Canada and Germany and Italy in Europe. Besides being a wonderful wife and mother, no matter the location she and her family were posted to, she always ensured that her house and family were comfortabl­e and all in good order, a welcome place for all. She attended Fredericto­n High and began working at an early age. At most of the locations she resided she did clerical work and was most proud and happy of the work she did in Masset, British Columbia for the School Board Library Division. She had many hobbies including ceramics, knitting, rock collecting and jewelry making.

As per her wishes, there will be no funeral service; a private family burial will be held at a later date. The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of Elk Court for the wonderful respite visits in the past few years; a special thank you to Sue, our good friend, for her visits and her caring ways and as well to Dr. Neil Bower for his friendly manner and sound advice. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to Mattatall – Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro.
