It is with broken hearts that we, the family of Michael Craig Deveaux, age 56, announce his sudden passing at home with his family by his side on Monday, October 1, 2018.

Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of Alex and Ann Marilyn (Bramwell) Deveaux.

Craig known to his friends and family as, “Bear”, worked for Servicom in Sydney for 12 years. He was a Third-Degree Knights of Columbus Member, a former Deputy Grand Knight and was in public relations for the K.O.C.

He was very witty and was also known as a jokester at times. Craig enjoyed the outdoors; hunting, skating and being a DJ at different events. As well he was a back-yard mechanic and liked going to cars shows. He was an avid Montreal Canadians fan. Craig also enjoyed talking on his CB radio.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Deanna (Currie) Deveaux; son, Sean (Katie Spurrell), Glace Bay; sisters, Wendy (Francis) McPhee, Debbie (Gordon) MacNeil, Glace Bay and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 5, 2018 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. in V.J. McGillivra­y Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. K.O.C. members will hold a prayer service at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m.

A Funeral Mass of celebratio­n for Craig will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Anne’s Church, Glace Bay with Fr. Duaine Devereaux officiatin­g.

Memorial donations may be made to the Epilepsy Foundation of Nova Scotia.
