It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved Scott MacDonald, age 37 of South Bar on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born in Glace Bay, he is the son of Raymond MacDonald and Noel (Furey) MacDonald. He was a graduate of St. Michael’s High School, Glace Bay.

Scott was last employed with Immigratio­n Canada in Sydney. He was a very compassion­ate man who had a great sense of humour. Scott was very athletic and was also a great musician, playing both the guitar and drums. He was a movie buff, enjoying both comedy and classic old films.

Scott is survived by his loving partner and fiancée of 12 years, Annette Thistle; his sister, Mandy (Jules), Fort MacMurray; niece, Neveah and nephew, Jayden.

He was predecease­d by his maternal grandparen­ts, Ben and Mary Furey and paternal grandparen­ts, Tom and Agnes MacDonald.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivra­y Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. There will be no visitation.

The Funeral Mass, officiated by Fr. Norman MacPhee is Tuesday at 10 a.m. in Holy Cross Church, Glace Bay followed by a reception in the parish hall.

Memorial donations may be made to the S.P.C.A. or the N.S. Heart & Stroke Foundation.
