It is with great sadness that we, the family of Mary MacNeil, 84, announce her passing at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on October 2, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Inverness, she was the daughter of the late Jules and Mary Jane (Finn) Pettipas.

Mary loved to do word search puzzles, kitting and crocheting. She loved her flowers and spending time in the garden. She also worked at the New Waterford Midtown Villa for 20 years. She was the best mother and grandmother anyone could ask for. She was loved by everyone who knew her and never had a harsh word for anyone.

She is survived by her loving children, Johnny (Janet), Deb, Dolores (Brian), Bernice (Marshall), Sharon (Hughie) and Donnie; 12 grand-children as well as six great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Bernie; brother, Frank; sister, Julia; granddaughter, Tonya; son-in-law, Andy and also her beloved fur-baby, Sandi.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place on Monday, Oct. 8, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Deacon Leo Penny officiating followed by a luncheon at the Army, Navy & Airforce, Smith Street, all are welcome.
