It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of our father, grandfathe­r, brother and friend, David Erskine Robertson, age 72, on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the Halifax Infirmary after a brief illness. Born in Sydney on July 15, 1946, Dave was the son of the late Albert and Evelyn (Taylor) Robertson.

Dave worked as an electricia­n for fifty years and for the last thirty-five years owned and operated Northside Electric. He played hockey for many years and was a member of the Sydney Mines Ramblers Hockey Team. Dave was an avid Toronto Maple Leaf and Toronto Blue Jays fan and was also a car enthusiast who enjoyed Nascar racing.

Dave is survived by his daughter, Kim (Kyle) Murray, Truro; his two sons, Glenn (Patti) Robertson, Harrington, PEI and Paul Robertson, Edmonton; his two grandchild­ren, Holly Robertson and Raine (Emily) Murray; his companion, Heather Lynn Dauphney and her children, Jamie (Danielle), Vina (Jeff) and their children, Josie, Allister, John and Thomas. Also surviving are his two brothers, Ronnie Robertson, North Sydney, Thomas (Karen) Robertson, Lawrenceto­wn. Dave will be dearly missed by his canine companions, Hersey, Kipper and Rosie.

Besides his parents, Dave was predecease­d by his wife, June (Lynch) Robertson, and his sister, Alice Delaney.

Visitation for Dave will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney. A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Wesley United Church, North Sydney with Rev. Stephen Mills officiatin­g.

Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
