It is with great sadness that we, the family of Catherine Anne Deruelle, announce her passing on October 28, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

Born on February 17, 1935 she was the daughter of the late Mathias and Minnie (Odo) Feit.

Catherine was very faithful to her church and family meant everything to her, especially her 17 grandchild­ren and 14 great-grandchild­ren. She loved baking, knitting, camping, enjoyed going to her trailer in Mira and being there with family members.

She is survived by daughters, Leona (James) Henry, New Waterford, Cathy (Rob) Hailes, Lower Sackville, Pauline Morrison, New Waterford, Darlene (Chris) Cormack, New Brunswick, Anita Marie (Arthur) Davis, Coxheath; sons, Leo (Margaret Ann) and Stephen (Joanne) both of New Waterford; sisters, Mary Murphy, Renee Langer, Pauline Smithson, Frances MacKinnon; brother, Murray (Alice); daughter-in-law, Marjorie Deruelle and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was also predecease­d by her husband, Leo; son, Michael; a child in infancy; sisters, Minnie, Josephine, Anita; and brothers, Tiker and Frank.

There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and funeral Mass will be held Thursday, November 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the Parish of Saint Leonard with Fr. Ray Huntley officiatin­g and burial in St. Michael’s Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the K.O.C., Plummer Ave., and all are welcome.

Donations in memory of Catherine can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Parish of Saint Leonard.
