-

It is with unbearable grief that I announce the passing of my mother, Corena Theresa Haley, age 88, on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the Northside General Hospital. Born in North Sydney on November 28, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Leo Boutilier and Annie (Russell) Boutilier of Maple View Drive. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Mom was a kind and unselfish person, who devoted her life to caring for others. From cooking meals to giving up her bed for visitors, she was always ready to make others comfortable when they came to visit. She was a woman of strong faith and was a member of Holy Family Parish in Sydney Mines.

She is survived by her only daughter, Sandra Haley, with whom she resided; her brother, Eric, and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Emmett Haley, in 1995, as well as nine brothers, Ernest, Russell, John, Roy, Harold, Gerald, Vincent, Doston and Edward.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 7-9 p.m. in J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, Sydney Mines.
