We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our beautiful precious Cassidy Jean Bernard on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the age of 22. Born in Sydney, Cassidy lived in Waycobah First Nation. She graduated in Waycobah in 2014.

Cassidy was known for her outgoing personalit­y and contagious laugh, she had lots of friends and was loved by so many. Her greatest love was when she became a mother of two beautiful babies. She took on this task with ease and loved every bit of her motherhood. She was a proud mother.

Cassidy leaves behind two beautiful babies; Mya Mae and Paisley Jean Bernard; her parents, Mona Bernard and Alonzo Denny; grandmothe­r, Julena Bernard; last living great-uncle, John Wayne Bernard; Cassidy’s siblings, Jillian (John), Jordan (Jennifer), Tyra and Renee (Tommy), Martha, Ally and Haley; godparents, Maynard Poulette and Margie Marshall; godchildre­n, Arabella, John Nicholas Jr., Bentley and Macy. Cassidy was loved by many aunts and uncles. She was predecease­d by her brother, Carlyle, and grandparen­ts, Bridget and Noel Denny.

Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, in the Multi Purpose Building, 160 Reservatio­n Road, We’koqma’q. Funeral Mass will be 1 p.m. Saturday, November 3, from Blessed St. Katari Parish Holy Trinity Roman Catholic Church, We’koqma’q First Nation with Father Conrad Edwards officiatin­g. Burial at a later date.
