A gentle form of yoga will be offered to people of all ages and levels of physical ability.

Known as chair yoga, the activity involves holding several physical postures, combined with breathing techniques, to promote overall well-being.

The activity will be held Wednesdays at 12:30 p.m. at the Florence Community Hall, formerly the St. Stephen Church.

The free event is sponsored by the Northside the Lakes Community Health Board, along with the St. Vincent de Paul Society’s Florence district.

Chair yoga often practised by sitting or using a chair for support.

The classes will be taught by certified instructor Pat MacKenzie, who has been teaching yoga since 2008.
