We, the family of Thomas Ralph Parsons, regret to announce his passing on Wednesday, October 31, 2018.

Born January 3, 1934, in Sydney, he was the son of the late Robert and Rosella (Lundrigan) Parsons.

A mechanic by trade, Ralph was the owner/operator of Ralph’s Texaco on Victoria Road. In later years, he joined the staff of the City of Sydney Fire Department. He and his wife, Mary spent many summers camping at both Seal Island and Lake O’Law campground­s, where they made many friends. Ralph had a great love for music and he, along with friends, volunteere­d many hours entertaini­ng at guest homes. He also had a passion for fishing and received great pleasure spending time in his boat on Lake O’Law.

Ralph is survived by his chosen daughter, Darlene (Kevin) Stevenson, Toronto; granddaugh­ter, Pamela (Aidan) Blanchard; grandson, Calvin; great-granddaugh­ter, McKenzie Blanchard; great-grandson, Carter Stevenson; sisters, Margaret MacDonald and Audrey (Charles) Hopkins, Sydney and Cheryl (Kenny) Ratushny, Lower Sackville; brothers, Robert (Penny) and Gordon (Arlene), Sydney; and brotherin-law, Ray Smith, Sydney.

He was predecease­d by his wife, Mary (Poirier); stepmother, Isobel Parsons; sisters, Dorothy Smith and Pauline (in infancy); and brothers-in-law, Charlie Wilson and Currie MacDonald.

Visitation will take place at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday, November 5 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.

Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, November 6 at 2 p.m., with Archdeacon Brenda Drake officiatin­g. Interment in Eastmount Cemetery.
