It is with sad news that we the family of Clifford Joseph (Cliff) Gouthro announce his passing on Tuesday, November 20, 2018.

Cliff, born 1943, was the son of Daniel Joseph Gouthro and Effie (Morrison) Gouthro McNabb.

Cliff is survived by his brothers, Daniel (Jackie Blair) and Alex (Gwenn); his sister, Frances (Nancy) Lyons and special niece, Linda Gouthro O’Connell (Bernie); along with many other nieces, nephews and cousins.

Cliff is also survived by longtime friend, Andre Lefebvre of Sherbrook, Quebec, and special friend, Elizabeth Paluka of Toronto, Ontario. Other special friends were Lily Fortin of Montreal, Quebec and Russell, Darlene, Darrin Churchill of Manipita, Quebec, the Brothers of the Good Shepard for the Homeless People, Brother David Lynch, Brother Sean McIssac, and Brother John. Cliff was very appreciati­ve of your help and support over the last 15 years, and also Saint Michaels Homes on Rushmore Road where he made many long lasting friendship­s, especially, Doug Forrester.

Cliff was predecease­d by brothers, John (Bunny), Charles, Gilbert, George; a sister, Catherine (Sissy) Burns and four sisters at birth. He was also predecease­d by his special friends, Jackie Albania and Maggie Guthie of Toronto.

Cliff held many important positions in the Health Care System in Environmen­tal Services in hospitals in Montreal and Toronto also he worked for many years at the Compensati­on Board in Toronto. He held the position as President of the Canadian Administra­tive Housekeepe­rs and Laundry Associatio­n. Cliff came home to retire in 2007 and enjoyed reconnecti­ng with old friends and playing darts at the Gardiner Community Hall.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of V.J. McGillivra­y Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Cliff has been buried at the Saint James Cemetery in Gardiner Mines.
