WILCOX, Annie “Margaret”

-

Surrounded by her family, on Saturday, August 3, 2019, Margaret Wilcox passed away peacefully at Vision Nursing Home (Sarnia) at the age of 89. Beloved wife for 60 years of the late Porter Garfield “Garry” Wilcox (2017). Lovingly missed by daughter, Mary Wilcox of Mississauga, Ontario and son, Craig (Michele) Wilcox of Sarnia, Ontario; granddaughters, Katy Kuszper of Mississauga, Ontario, Carley & Shelby Wilcox both of Sarnia, Ontario. Born in Donkin, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, to the late Robert and Sarah (Sadie McRae) Matheson. Margaret was one of 8 children; Ellen, Robert (Buddy), Rodena, William (Willie), Georgie and twin boys Holmes and Grant. Margaret is survived by brother Grant, sister Rodena and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews across Canada. Everyone who knew her loved her. She was always calm, positive and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She loved music and played the piano for several United Churches and sang in the choir. She was very well read, and you never wanted to play trivial pursuit against her if you did not want to lose! Margaret was graceful, kind, supportive, caring, nurturing and encouraging. We will all miss her dearly. We would like to thank each and every one of the staff at Vision for the love, care and affection you showed to us and our mother/grandmother and mother-inlaw. A private family service will be held in Sarnia, with internment in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

Arrangements entrusted to Smith Funeral Home, 1576 London Line, Sarnia. Sympathy may be expressed through donations to the Dementia Society, Sarnia and District Humane Society, or a charity of your choice. Memories and condolences may be sent online at www.smithfuneralhome.ca.
