FRASER, Marie “Pauline” Cheticamp

Age 87, Cheticamp. We are saddened to announce the passing of our mother, Pauline Fraser which occurred on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Sacred Heart Community Health Centre. She was the daughter of the late Paul and the late Clothilde (Deveau) Poirier. Pauline was born on August 31, 1932. In her early years, Pauline was a teacher and also worked at the Royal Bank in Cheticamp. Throughout her life, she was dedicated to her family and home. She enjoyed baking, cooking and hosting large family gatherings. No matter when you dropped by Pauline’s, you were sure to be offered a hot cup of tea. Pauline enjoyed knitting and her sons-in-law always looked forward to receiving her beautiful hand-knit socks. Pauline had a strong faith and always put others ahead of herself. She was happiest when surrounded by her family and always looked forward to visits with her children and grandchild­ren. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the Foyer Père Fiset and the Sacred Heart Community Health Centre for their excellent care and kindness. Pauline is survived by her son, Kenneth Fraser Jr. (Priscille), Cheticamp; daughters, Norma Travis (Jerry), Sydney, Paula Fraser, Halifax, and Gisèle Fraser (Barry), Halifax; brothers, Gordon Poirier, Cheticamp, and André Poirier (Marie Hélène), Cheticamp; grandchild­ren, Stephen Travis (Shikara), Paul Travis (Julianne), Keith Fraser (Alyssa), Olivia Babineau, and Rachel Babineau; great grandchild­ren, Sienna and Scarlett Travis, and Mia Fraser. Besides her husband of 53 years, Kenneth Fraser, Pauline was predecease­d by her brothers, Joseph Poirier, George Poirier, and Milton AuCoin; sisters, Evelyn Daniels, Dorothy Whalen, Mary Fasulo, Jean Barton, Evelyn McInnis, Katie Mae AuCoin, and Marguerite Marie MacLean. A memorial mass will be held at a later date. Donations may be made to Foyer Père Fiset, Sacred Heart Community Health Centre, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
