-

It is with overwhelming sadness that we, the family of Phyllis Marsh, age 77, announce her passing on June 10, 2020 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Port Morien into the loving family of the late Gordon and Phyllis (Robinson) Wadden along with seven siblings. She was happily married to her husband Joe for 48 years and they raised two daughters in Sydney. She enjoyed residing at Harbourstone Enhanced Care with Joe for the last two years. In her earlier years, she loved to have large family gatherings which included good food, music, and singing. She was often the life of the party. She had a gentle spirit and an infectious smile that could light up any room. Phyllis had a wonderful sense of humor and a very giving nature. She was adored by all who met her. Phyllis will be lovingly remembered and profoundly missed by her husband, Joe; daughters, Michelle and Darlene (Steven); grandchildren, Brandon (Becky), Ashley (Darrell), Jordan (Amy), and her three great-grandchildren, Lenox, Rylee and Mason. She is survived by siblings, Delores, Alma, Muriel (Ron), Wayne (Arlene), Buddy (Valerie), and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Mora and Joyce. As per Phyllis’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation will take place under the direction of V.J. Mcgillivray Funeral Home, Cremation & Reception Center, 16 Reserve Street, Glace Bay. Interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Reserve at a later date, with Father Paul Mcgillivray officiating. Heartfelt thanks go to the staff of Harbourstone Enhanced Care, especially to those of Mira Bay who showed much kindness and compassion to Phyllis during her stay. We know the staff will miss her dearly.
