NICHOL, Mary Agnes (Aggie) Sydney Mines

-

We, the family of Mary Agnes (Aggie) Nichol, are saddened to announce her passing in the early hours of Thursday, June 11, 2020, at the age of 91. It was very fitting for her to die on Davis Day, as she was the daughter of a hardworking miner, the late Michael Matheson, and mother the late Lucy (Anderson) Matheson. She was born of strong Newfoundland blood, as she proved by beating cancer twice in her lifetime. Aggie is survived by her children, Kathy (Sid), and Barbara (Eric), Sydney Mines, Bill (Sharon), Kempt Head, Philip, Vancouver, Connie (Guy), St. Pierre, Nora (Charles), Florida, and Bettylou (Danny), BC. Also left to mourn are her grandchildren, Angie (Troy), Kelly (Michael), Marshall, Kim (Larry), Shane (Tamara), Katia, Nico, Maurice, and Jean Guy; and by eight great-grandchildren, especially Rylan; who has shown he is made of the same toughness as Aggie. She also leaves behind her brothers and sisters, Austin (Fran), Betty, Joan (Fred), Florence, and Cecilia; and sisters-in-law, Georgie and Arthena. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Nichol; three children at birth; brothers, Stanley (Sylvia) and Leo; sister, Ann (John); brothers-in-law, Billy Nichol, Gordon, Bobby and Bill; granddaughter, Corrine; and several nieces and nephews. Her family would like to thank Dr. Michel Mckeough and the staff of Northside General, 2nd Floor, especially Sherri, for the care given to Mom. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date. Words of comfort may be forwarded to her family at www.jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
