BROWNER, Francis (BOZO)

It is with saddened hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of our dear husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, Francis Aquinas (Bozo) Browner. Bozo passed away peacefully at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on June 15, 2020, in his loving wife’s arms. Bozo was born on August 7, 1942, in Glace Bay to the late Thomas Aquinas Browner and Christine Browner (MacDonald) of Dominion, Nova Scotia, where he was raised. Bozo leaves behind the love of his life, his wife of 54 years, Margaret Louise Browner (MacDonald), and his three beloved children, Paul Browner (Jocelyne), Patricia Lynn Hanrahan (Roger), Chris (Robert) Browner, who were his pride and joy. Bozo was Grampy to three beautiful grandchildren, Ryland, Liam, and Madelyn, whom he enjoyed spending as much time with as possible, often passing on his sense of humor to a new generation of young minds. Bozo is survived by his brother and friend, Vince Browner (Mary Lou), and predeceased by his loving sister, Patsy Browner. His extended family and his many nieces and nephews will miss their dear “Uncle Bo,” and the countless stories and laughs they shared. Bozo worked for the Glace Bay Bus Company and later in life, Canada Post. He was an active member of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, where he spent countless hours with close friends giving back to his community. Bozo also enjoyed passing his days and evenings over a game of cards with Margie and their friends or watching his favorite sports teams, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Blue Jays. Both Bozo and Margie enjoyed long drives together, where the destination was often unknown. Bozo made a lifetime impact on friends and family. His gift of humor and his quick wit was contagious, bringing great joy to friends and strangers alike. When someone was in need, he was only a phone call away. No favor was too grand, and no drive was too far. He could easily be described as authentic, true to self, and truly one of a kind. He was a straight shooter who never pulled a punch and put on no airs; however, he always spoke from a place of love and kindness. We, the family, would like to extend a warm thanks to Dr. Michael Gallivan, Dr Kevin McNeil, the nurses and care providers from New Waterford Home Care and the VON. Furthermore, we would like to thank the nurses and doctors at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital and the Glace Bay General Hospital. Bozo knew he was blessed with countless friends and family who provided unconditional support and kindness over the years. Cremation has already taken place under the care and guidance of T. J. Tracey Funeral Home, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay (902) 849-4199, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
