It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the sudden passing of James Chalmers Johnston, age 54, on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. Born in North Sydney on July 21, 1966, James is the son of Angeline (Macintyre) Johnston and the late Chalmers Johnston. He was employed for a number of years with Service Master and Belfour Canada. He was a race car enthusiast and avid NASCAR fan. He had a great passion for working on model cars, enjoyed drawing and loved animals. He would often spend time listening to his favourite country singer and idol, Waylon Jennings. James was a very kind person who was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Besides his mother Angeline in Georges River, James is survived by his partner, Gloria Boutilier; two brothers, John George (Kelly) Johnston, Georges River, Freddie Macintyre, Halifax; nephew, Johnny and niece, Julia, whom he was very close to and had a special bond with. He is also survived by his half-sisters, Chalene (Walter) Sajatovich, Mildred, June, Joyce and half-brothers, Sid and Gerald. Besides his father he was predecease­d by a sister, Christina Marie Macintyre; half-brother, George and his maternal grandmothe­r, Angeline Macintyre. Private family visitation and funeral will be held in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant Street, North Sydney with burial in Calvin United Church Cemetery, Upper Leitches Creek.
