It is with heavy hearts that, we, the family of Wallace Barter, regret to announce his passing on Sunday, December 6, 2020, at home in Louisbourg. Born December 13, 1949, in Francois, NL, he was the son of Sarah Winnifred (Dollimont) Barter and the late George Andrew Barter. Whenever you saw Wallace, he always had a smile on his face and a story. An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed spending time outdoors. Besides his mother, Wallace is survived by his son, Clinton (Amy), Sydney; grandchild­ren, Julianne and Peyton; sister, Rosanna “Rosie” ( Raymond) Lahey, Louisbourg; brothers, Andrew (Gladys), Billy (Loretta), Raymond (Diane) and Calvin (Linda “Dinks”), all of Louisbourg; nieces and nephews, Andy, Tara, Lorrie, Jonathan, Taylor, Amy, Raylene and Rodney. He will be missed by many good friends, especially by his life-long friend, Allister MacDonald. A private family service will take place. Visitation will be held at St. Bartholome­w’s Church, Louisbourg on Monday, December 14, 2020 from 2-4 p.m. Covid-19 restrictio­ns of social distancing are to be followed and masks are mandatory. Interment will take place at a later date. Arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Sydney Memorial Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 62, Louisbourg or to charity of your choice.
