Cape Breton Chamber hosting online learning
SYDNEY — The Cape Breton Regional Chamber of Commerce is offering a trio of free online training opportunities this month.
All three programs will be virtual classes through the Zoom online application.
The first is a proposal writing course set for Tuesday, Jan. 12 at 6 p.m. and intended to provide participants with the knowledge and understanding of how to create strong and persuasive proposals and the skills to create them.
Identifying various kinds of proposals and the various sources of requests for proposals will be part of the course.
Structuring an effective proposal and assembling persuasive evidence, overcoming barriers to writing, and how to edit your writing are also part of this session.
The Sage Accounting online class will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at 1 p.m. and will introduce the business community to the computer program designed to make bookkeeping simple and easy.
A Microsoft Excel for Business course will be on Thursday, Jan. 14 at 1 p.m. to help those who want to record, analyze and store numeric data.
It will include exploring the screen and standard toolbar and ribbon tools, creating templates, customizing using editing tools, copying and pasting options and applying autofill.
Course outcomes include reviewing financial foundation concepts, setting up a company, setting up accounts receivables, customer invoices and receipts, and setting up accounts payable.
Adding an employee, paying an employee, and applying the various payroll features are among the other outcomes of the course.
