MacDONALD, Joseph “Bobby” Glace Bay

It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Bobby MacDonald, age 80, on January 5,2021 at Celtic Court, Sydney. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late John and Lorena (Spencer) MacDonald. He was the manager for the KMart Cafeteria for 25 years, until his retirement. He was a member of KOC and was on the board of directors for the Seton Foundation. Bobby enjoyed playing darts and tarbish (cheating sometimes) and spending time with his grandchild­ren, playing games and being outside. Bobby loved Christmas, enjoyed decorating the house. Bobby is survived by his children, Joe (Louanne), Greg (Mary), Ron, Ken (Josie), Rosanne (Frank), Juanita (Morgan); his 12 wonderful grandchild­ren, Nicole, Aaron, Curtis, Christina, Bethany, Brandon, Sarah, Hailey, Myles, Alyssa, Myah and Ava; his precious great-grandchild­ren, Cohen, Emma and Raeden. He is also survived by his siblings, Agnes, Cecilia, Janice, Ann, and Johnny as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his loving wife, Rosalie (Timmons); siblings, John ‘Dookie’ Kathleen, Rose, Shirley, Melissa “Honey’ Theresa and Melvin. The family would like to thank the staff of Celtic Court especially Myrna Phillips for all their support and compassion given to dad. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, January 8, 2021 at TJ Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist­s, 370 Reserve St. Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199) with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiatin­g.
