ALLISON, George Stephen Glace Bay

It is with broken hearts that we the family announce the passing of George Allison, age 80, at the Glace Bay Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Glace Bay, he was the son of the late Frank and Margaret (Gillis) Allison. He was employed in the constructi­on field for many years in Ontario and later worked for St. Joseph’s Hospital. He was a very kind, gentle, easy going quiet man, who always wanted to help anyone in need. George loved his family and friends and they will dearly miss him. George is survived by his loving companion of 31 years, Joan MacDonald; his children, John, Mark and Stephen; stepsons, Donnie (Dara) and Robert; stepdaught­er, Lea-Ann; his precious grandchild­ren, Amelia, Sammy, Megan and Jalayna. He is also survived by his siblings, Louise (the late Jimmy) MacDonald, Judy (Mike) McCrae and James “Panda” (Connie), as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his siblings, Rita Irene in infancy, Myrtle Pemberton and John, brother-in-law, Jimmy ‘ Bully’ MacDonald. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2021 with Fr. Duaine Devereaux officiatin­g at T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist­s, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS (902-849-4199). The family would like to thank the VON Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
