ROBERTS, Lloyd George Glace Bay

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd George Roberts at Glace Bay Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Born in Glace Bay, Lloyd was the son of the late Gordon and Beatrice Roberts. Lloyd worked for many years at Kenmount Ford Sales, Sydney, Nova Scotia. Lloyd was an antique automobile enthusiast. He loved playing baseball and attending horse racing. Lloyd loved watching his Toronto Blue Jays and Montreal Canadiens. Lloyd is survived by his wife of fifty-two years, Linda Roberts (Clarke); son, Derrick Lloyd Roberts and granddaugh­ter, Bailey Mitchell. Lloyd is also survived by Linda’s son, Joe Menchefski (Andrea Rizzato, Molly McDonald and Cruz Rizzato), as well as granddaugh­ters, Emma Menchefski ( Evan Wells) and M.J. Menchefski. Also surviving are his sister, Norma Goodwin (Bob) of Red Deer Alberta; nephew, Lloyd; niece, Kim and special niece, Karen Woodman, of Shediac, New Brunswick.,Besides his parents, Lloyd was predecease­d by his brother, Gordon Roberts and sister, Beatrice MacKinnon (Hughie). Lloyd also leaves behind his best friends, Bill Kuta, Gordie Simms, Reg Blunden, Marv King, John Moores, Colin Walker and Dougie Sharpe. As requested by Lloyd, there will be no viewing or service. Cremation has been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Funeral Home, 370 Reserve Street, Glace Bay (902) 849-4199. Memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Centre at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
