It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of our dear mother Marlene Delores (Ripley) (Black) Romanowicz, on Wednesday December 30, 2020, at Ridge Meadows Hospital, Maple Ridge, BC. Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Marlene was the daughter of Edward and Hazel (Stephens) Ripley, both deceased. She is also predecease­d by her brothers, Earl (Jean) Ripley, Eddie Ripley, Charles L Black, Loreen Szewczok. Marlene is survived by her children: Leon (Marie) Black, Langley, BC. Cynthia (Cindy Black) Watanabe, Bonney Lake, WA. Joanne Black, Langley, BC. Grandchild­ren: Amy (Macvicar) Fox, Nicole, Jeffrey Simard, Great-grandchild­ren: Logan, Kayla, Landan, Emilie, Jade, Jacob, Noam. Nieces: Cheryl Ripley and Son Mike Sherman. Joann Ripley and Son Nicolas Cann, Patricia Ripley. Nephews: Stephen Ripley, Eddie Ripley and Sons, Jesse Ripley, Carter Wills. She leaves behind many cousins and friends throughout Nova Scotia, Colleen, Warna, Eileen Macneil, Stephens, Abbass, Porter, Sullivan. In BC Brenda, Howie and Glenn. Marlene moved to Langley, BC to be closer to her children with Peter (Bun) Romanowicz, her late husband. She was a beloved mother and loved sharing her life with her children. Marlene was a warm-hearted, fun-loving lady with a great sense of humor and she always had a smile on her face. Marlene loved to play the piano and sing along with everyone.
