CAMPBELL, Juanita Vera

-

Sadly, Juanita Vera (Gallupe) Campbell, passed away at the Inverness Hospital on Sunday, May 2, 2021 with her husband AJ by her side. Born in Sydney, October 31, 1954, Juanita was the daughter of the late Olga Rita (Rolfe) and Carroll Apton Gallupe. Juanita is survived by her husband, AJ and her sister, Raylene Young (Robert). Also surviving are her nieces, Laura Marie (Lori) Thompson and Lise Lynne Thompson. Her childhood friend, Marie (MacLean) Butler and her family (the girls) will remember her with love. She is also survived by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews in the Campbell family; cousins in the Rolfe and Gallupe families. Juanita was a member of the United Church and attended services at St. Andrews in Sydney, Hillsborough and Port Hood while “up on the Ridge”. In her younger years, Juanita worked and lived in Ontario, Calgary, Truro and Canso before returning to Sydney. She was predeceased by an infant son and her husband, Edmund Ryan. Her gift to others was in the homecare profession where she excelled at making seniors and the house-bound feel valued and worthwhile. About thirty years ago, she and AJ met (we are still not sure how as both of them were shy and quiet). It turned out that they were like “two peas in a pod” and then they were married. She spent the next thirty years with her husband and best friend in beautiful and peaceful Mabou Ridge where they loved to plan their next trip. She was a quiet, humble soul whom you never underestimated to get things done. In keeping with Juanita’s wishes, cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. There will be a private graveside service when COVID restrictions allow. Condolences may be sent to www.foresthaven.ca. You may think you are completely insignificant in this world with no influence whatsoever, but every touch, word and good deed you leave behind CANNOT be erased.
