LEMOINE, George Brian

-

July 6, 1954 – April 11, 2024. It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of George LeMoine, on April 11, 2024, at the age of 69 years, in Sydney. George was a successful fisherman and business owner who took great pride in all his accomplishments which were the result of many years of hard work. He enjoyed playing darts, poker runs on the Mira, participating at numerous events at the Boat Club, and hanging out with his beloved dog, Cuda, the one with the “BIG” personality whom he took everywhere he went. George was always available to offer a helping hand to family, friends and his wonderful neighbours, whom he would make sure were taken care of by ploughing them out through many snowfalls over the years. Above all else, George enjoyed every moment he spent with his two grandchildren, Janie and John David. George has left behind a legacy of love, laughter, kindness, and storytelling, that will forever resonate in our lives. George is survived by his daughter, Tammy (David); son, Charles; grandchildren, Janie and John David; brother, Johnny (Judy); sisters, Lillian (Norman), Barbara (Joey), and Marlene (Johnny); as well as several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, George and Lillian Jane “Janie” (Parson) LeMoine, and sister, Charlene. A “Family Only” graveside memorial service for the late George LeMoine will be held in St. Bartholomew Cemetery, Louisbourg with Rev. Sheldon Chant officiating. In honor of George, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 29, from 2-4 p.m. at the Mira Boat Club, Albert Bridge. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital for their care and compassion. Donations in memory of George may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home. Online condolences can be forwarded to the family at: www.pierfuneralhome.com
