Jun 16-Aug 12 Kenojuak Ashevak shot to fame when Canada Post put The Enchanted Owl, a print of a black and red plumed nocturnal bird, on a postage stamp in 1970. Other animal prints by the magic marker-wielding “grandmother of Inuit art” are exhibited alongside work by her nephew, Tim Pitsiulak. The enchanting menagerie includes Pitsiulak’s Swimming Bear, a polar bear whose white limbs shine through a pool of India ink, and Ashevak’s Bountiful Bird, a fowl with a fan of Medusa-like heads. $19.50, ART GALLERY OF ONTARIO, 317 DUNDAS ST W AGO.CA
