Diesel World

EDITOR'S NOTE

THE NEW YEAR AHEAD

-

Around this time every year we as a company sit down and discuss the past year as a whole. We look at things we did, both successful and not so successful, and try to come up with a plan for next year.

For the past year or so, we’ve been gearing up for something new. While you might not have noticed, as we planned it this way, things are really getting ready to blow up at Diesel World in the best possible way. When I started here a few years ago, Diesel World consisted of basically just the magazine. That wasn’t going to be okay for me. My first priority after the magazine is done each month is looking for ways to grow and do more epic things within the industry. Last year’s big project for me, among other things, was UCC and building a new DW website.

This year we started sponsoring a bunch of other events; created a regular newsletter to keep you up to date on everything going on in the diesel world (you can sign up for it on dieselworldmag. com); we’ve stepped up our social media game heavily and are regularly bringing you live feeds from events across the country via Facebook, Instagram as well as on our own website; and we’re also doing regular giveaways online, which is something many of you probably had no clue was happening. Additionally, you can find out how to enter those contests on our website every month.

Next year we’ll be stepping up our giveaways/contests doing a few a month and we’re actually going to be starting a sort of “fantasy football” for diesel events where you’ll be able to compete with others to win truck parts based on how trucks you pick perform at various events. On this new website/ app, you’ll also be able to see how just about every super-competitive truck in the country has done through the season, and you’ll get to see what they have done to make the power/get it to the ground. Something you won’t find anywhere else. We’ll be announcing that in January 2018. We’re planning on starting a few more events of our own as well, a couple of which you’ll be able to take part in. Next year, we’ll start our own type of Diesel TV with tons of videos from events, shops, “Mexico” shenanigans, and anything else you can, or can’t think of.

Tons going on around here, and that’s just the stuff I’m willing to tell you about… Stay tuned.
