Grande Prairie man faces sex charges
A man in Grande Prairie is facing charges after a police investigation into the alleged targeting of teenage boys living a high-risk lifestyle. RCMP said reports of a man targeting boys surfaced in late June. On July 24, officers conducting surveillance observed what they believed was about to be the victimization of a teenage boy. The officers intervened, rescuing the boy and arresting the suspect. Irving Tobias Oldford, 56, was charged with three counts of procuring prostitution from someone under the age of 18 and one count of sexual assault. Oldford has been released from custody on his own recognizance, but is subject to conditions that include no contact with anyone under 18 unless accompanied by another adult. He is expected to appear in court Aug. 3.
