Curtail non-stop coverage of tragedy
Senseless attacks in Europe; police killing or being killed in the US; a recent mother and daughter tragedy in Calgary. Details of these kind of events fill our airwaves, newspapers and social media over and over again such that we are beginning to consider them normal, and life rather hopeless.
I don’t accept this philosophy nor do I want you, or my children and grandchildren to do so either. We must end this non-stop violence-related “advertising.”
Tell us about the exciting things our young and old are accomplishing. Encourage us to leave our devices at home and go out and socialize with others in city parks or at the wonderful array of festivals. Brighten things up with photographs of happy people enjoying summer at its best. The opportunities to promote happiness and joy are endless. I guarantee we’ll all be better off. P.
