Edmonton daredevil entertainer Ryan Stock was shot in the neck with a flaming arrow on live television after a stunt went horribly wrong.

Stock and his fiancee and assistant Amberlynn Walker, were performing a stunt in the quarter final round of America’s Got Talent on Tuesday.

During the act, Walker aims a flaming arrow at a target on a funnel Stock holds in his mouth and throat. But Walker missed the target and instead struck Stock in the neck with the flaming arrow.

Stock can be seen quickly brushing the arrow away before removing the funnel from his throat and doubling over in pain.

While celebrity judges Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel, Mel B. and Simon Cowell looked on in shock, Stock insisted he was not seriously harmed.

After the show, Stock took to Twitter to reassure fans.

We had a serious mishap tonight outage live on @nbcagt. A very unfortunate mechanical failure but I am very fortunate to walk away from it.

In an interview posted on his website, Stock admits that while injuries do happen when rehearsing his freak-show stunts, they don’t usually happen on stage.

That should come as some relief to fans, who have watched Stock balance running chainsaws in his teeth, swallow swords, and pull a car 20 feet with a hook pulled through his nose and out of his mouth.

Later, Stock again took to Twitter to thank his fans for the outpouring of support, joking, “I wish the internet and the media would get this excited when a stunt worked properly.”

Wow. Thanks for all the support and posts. I will try and get to all the messages tonight. We’ve barely slept with all the calls & messages.
