Pretty Little Liars

-

Call it soapy, melodramatic and pulpy if you like, but this guilty pleasure of a series seldom fails to deliver when it comes to a satisfying cliffhanger. While we have few story details in advance of this week’s summer finale, The Darkest Knight, a network news release promises that “all hell breaks loose” as the Liars find themselves forced to confront some of their old foes face-toface. Troian Bellisario, Lucy Hale and Ashley Benson star. (Bravo)

AMERICA’S GOT TALENT

The competition to see which entertainer winds up with a cool million dollars, plus bragging rights as the most talented act in America (2016 edition), enters its next phase as round one of the live semifinals kicks off at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, in (appropriately enough) Semi Finals 1. The lucky five from this semifinal who will advance to the finals will be revealed in Wednesday’s live show. (NBC, City)

MOTIVE

It’s the series finale for this homespun crime drama in which the identity of the killer is shown to the viewers at the beginning of the episode but the motive for the murder is what our sleuths determine. In the finale, We’ll Always Have Homicide, the team gets together three years after a killer escapes to close the case. (CTV)

HALIFAX COMEDY FESTIVAL

In a new episode, Sterling Scott offers a modest proposal for ending world hunger, while Graham Kay argues that people can’t be bad to the bone if they have bad bones to start with. In another segment, Nikki Payne has some advice for young people. (CBC)

QUEEN OF THE SOUTH

In the new episode Estrategia de Entrada, Teresa (Alice Braga) holes up in a warehouse basement to await her next assignment, while a still-wary Camila (Veronica Falcon) concocts a second test of Teresa’s loyalty during a major drug operation. Later, Camila makes a move to take over Epifanio’s cartel, while Brenda (Justina Machado) plots her escape, with covert help from Teresa. (Bravo)

HALT AND CATCH FIRE

Repeating a frustrating old pattern, Gordon and Donna’s (Scoot McNairy, Kerry Bishé) personal life bleeds into work, causing tension at the Mutiny office, in the new episode Flipping the Switch. Elsewhere, Joe (Lee Pace) meets with the board of MacMillan Utility. (AMC)
