POLICE RESPOND TO NEW WAVE OF HOAX THREATS

Police in the Halifax area say they responded to five unfounded bomb threats within about an hour early Sunday. The RCMP says there were separate calls about threats at a Cole Harbour sports facility, the Halifax Stanfield International Airport, Dalhousie University, Saint Mary’s University and a Halifax library. Nothing suspicious was found in any case. School districts in four provinces and territories received unfounded bomb threats last week, with one threat in PEI prompting a provincewide evacuation of public schools.
