WHAT DID THE CITY CHANGE?

-

City officials extended the $3.50 per hour on street parking and city hall parking rate into the evening

The city increased rates to $10 per evening in the underground library parkade

Officials increased enforcement, especially on event nights, to ensure traffic flow and parking turnover for preexisting businesses

Two-hour parking restrictions for residential areas around Chinatown and coming to Central McDougall are intended to reserve street locations for visitors and local business customers. That’s at the residents’ request, to counter both MacEwan students and Oilers fans taking over the neighbourhood, said the city’s Bohdan Maslo. “They’re just tired of seeing their streets blocked all day.”
