Catholic trustees pick wrong battle
Re. “Catholic board battles TV porn,” Oct. 19
It is all very good that Catholic school trustees want to stop broadcasters from offering pornographic content but should the Catholic board not direct its energies to the more serious and real problem of human trafficking?
Victims of human trafficking are mainly girls and women. If the Catholic school trustees think human trafficking is not relevant to them they are in for a shock. Parasitic human traffickers start preying on girls as early as junior high and high school.
If Catholic school trustees directed their energy to the pressing problem of human trafficking, we could start to curb the almost free rein human traffickers operate under because mainstream society does not want to deal with this exploitation of, mainly, girls and women. Kelvin York, Edmonton
